Pillow Talk: Did You Smoke Pot at Work?

Let me preface this by saying that Mr. Superman nor I smoke weed. I know I have to put that out there because SOMEONE is bound to think the contrary.

I started work this week. I would drop Mr. Superman off at base, come home to veg a bit, get ready, then head to work myself. After getting off work, I would come home, veg for 20 minutes, then head to base to pick him up. This ensued after being home together for a little while and I was smoochin' my man. I had also been complaining of hunger for a while.

Him: What is that?
Me: What?
Him: You smell like weed.

SILENCE

Me: What!?
Him: Seriously you do.
Me: You are crazy.

PROCEED SMOOCHING

Him: Okay, you REALLY smell like weed.
Me: Is it my hands? (Has him smell my hands)
Him: No.
Me: Is it my hair? (Puts head down so he can smell it.)
Him: Nope.
Me: Is it my breath? (Kisses him again)

SILENCE

Him: Yes!

SILENCE

Him: What do you do at work babe?
Me: Oh come on, you can't be serious!

SILENCE

Me: I swear that's not why I'm starving either.
Him: Nice.

Day 24- Whatever Tickles My Fancy

I think whoever came up with 30 Day Meme got lazy. These 'whatever tickles my fancy' assignments are no good. I do much better with a designated topic.

I know I mentioned my BFF Brighteyes coming to visit while Mr. Superman is TDY in July. I also know in the past, some of you may have been introduced to her and her craziness. Well I am re-introducing her. This video is kind of old. Don't mind the fact that my hair is scraggly, in a beanie, and the boxes in the back of my car. It had been a long day snatching boxes for our big move to Utah.

Without further adieu, Brighteyes!

Fabulous Thursday Five!!

Happy Happy Thursday!

It's that super fun time again to post 5 things that have made you feel

Blessed

Delighted

Joyous

Cheerful

Jolly

Or maybe just plain old happy

1) I started work. I'm not excited about what I'm doing or the hours or the pay but its work. I am grateful and blessed.

2) Despite only getting 2-3 conscious hours together every day due to our new schedules, being able to get even that small amount of time is incredible.

3) I am done with my CNA course. I got an A and now just have to get all my paperwork in, wait for my letter telling me when and where my state boards are, then pass those.

4) Even though Mr. Superman's TDY got extended I will be having one of my SIL's coming to stay for 8 days and my best friend Brighteyes comes in the day my SIL leaves. How exciting!!

5) Tomorrow's Friday which means tomorrow night is our last night of work for two whole days. It also marks number one of my last two weekends with Mr. Superman (I start working weekends afterwards) so we are intent on enjoying it!

What are your Thursday Five? Go HERE to share!

Day 23- A YouTube Video

I saw this a while back over at Ashleigh's blog and thought it was too cute! I had then been seeing it all over FB and knew I wanted to post it. Its just so perfect.

Kindred Connection #4

Windy Poplars

 Hey there Lovelies! The Kindred Connection is back this week.
From Windy Poplars "I hope you'll join along so we can either get to know you better or make a new friend! So grab the button, answer the questions, and link up below (to your KC post) Our theme is:

Food!

To read more about the KC, click HERE

 Questions for the week:

1. What is your favorite ethnicity of food?

MMM Italian. But close seconds are Chinese, Thai, and Mexican. I'm just a food lover.

2. If you could eat only one meal for two weeks straight, what would it be?

If I'm trying to be healthy? Oatmeal. If I'm being normal? Three flavor chicken and Thai toast or any type of pasta with a cream based sauce and cheese. That's honesty right there.

3. What is the "signature" dish that you cook? (you know, that always receives rave reviews and/or you get requests for the recipe - feel free to share the recipe!)

Mr. Superman loves my beef enchiladas (along with my fried Spanish rice and refried bean dip) but I make a mean pot roast too. I'm really good with sauces, marinades, and rubs. My "item" that always gets rave reviews are my chocolate chip cookies and my cupcakes.

4. Is there something that you just can't handle eating - like gag reflex?

Green Beans. N A S T Y. I will save my green bean story for another time but the smell is enough to make me vomit.

5. Do you think that the Kindred Connection should continue through the summer, or take the summer off?

I would love for it to continue! I love it so much and am finally back on track with my blogging. (Kind of)

"Tell your friends about the Connection this week - if we have 20 participants (linkers), I'll put you all into another giveaway drawing!"

Sweet! Anyone up for a Giveaway with no strings other than answering a few fun questions? Um... I am! Go join up ya'll :)

Wordless Wednesday

I love Monsoon season in Arizona. If you don't know what that is, Google it. If you have never experienced a Monsoon, you won't quite understand but its beautiful. The smell of wet dirt, the wind blowing, the dust starting to roll into swirls, the sky tinged orange... le sigh. The other day, driving home I saw this in front of me. These look like Arizona Monsoon clouds.... in Georgia. Either they were taunting me or trying to make me smile. Either way, they were incredible.

Day 22- A Website

I'm a lame-o. I don't even know what to post. I love Etsy (who doesn't?) I am also in love with this fabric website HERE. It is INCREDIBLE. Another one I adore has all sorts of buttons, trims, crystals, and other glorious things. You can find it HERE. There is a brooch store I stumbled upon about 14 months back that is (too expensive for me) but is fabulous nonetheless. You can go check them out HERE.

What are some of your favorite websites?

Day 21- A Recipe

I love baking and cooking but some of my favorite things are delicious muffins! I also love bananas so back when we lived in Utah, I created this delicious recipe for banana crumb muffins. The pictures are from the very first time I made them.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Muffins

* 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
* 3 bananas
* 3/4 cup white sugar
* 1 egg
* 1/3 cup melted butter
* 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Crumb Topping

* 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
* 1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
* 1 tablespoon cinnamon
* 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
* 1 tablespoon butter

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cooking spray on tin or 12 muffin cups.

2. For muffin batter, mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. In another bowl, beat together bananas, sugar, egg, vanilla, and melted butter. Mix together banana mixture with the dry ingredients. Spoon batter into muffin tin. Fill almost to top. Makes 12 generous muffins.

3. For crumb topping, mix together brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and powdered sugar until well blended. Using a spoon mash in the tablespoon of butter until the entire mixture is moistened and well blended. Takes about 5 minutes. Sprinkle topping over muffins. There may be just a little topping left over. Cover the entire top of each muffin cup so as to fully cover the batter.

4. Bake for 18 minutes. Let cool. Remove muffins by gently twisting them about then lifting.

5. Enjoy!!

Day 20- A Hobby of Mine

Well I like to talk. And Blog.

The End.

Ha! Yeah right! I mean I do like to talk and blog and I suppose blogging is sort of a hobby but I got something better up my sleeve. I like to decorate and re-decorate. I like to create cute new things for my home and finding ways to make things prettier. Mr. Superman insists I throw in one of my main weapons is my hot glue gun. Nice.

One time I had this dream I made my own black leather tufted headboard. So I did it.

I also turned the wicker chest in my bedroom from this

To this

I also painted this

I used these candle jars (after the candle was done of course) to create some decor. Spray paint, scrap-booking supplies, ribbon, and hot glue. It has Love & Family on the other side.

I found hat boxes and saw wall decor.

I'm also good at thrifting. Like finding some fabulous old leather bound and fabric wrapped books ie. The Davinci Code, Where The Sidewalk Ends, and a great Medical Dictionary (I'm a nerd) at $2 a pop!

I have a ton more pictures I could show but I'll wrap it up.

What's one of your hobbies?

Not Me!!

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

Not Me Monday is a way of sharing our week of 'did not's!' with one another that helps us to feel just a smidge better about ourselves. Wanna join? MckMama is the genius behind it all.

This week I did not find myself out at a 'girls night' for the first time in 4 years. I did not ask Mr. Superman if he was sure it was okay for me to go 10 times before he realized I was really asking if I had to go. I did not then proceed to promise myself I'd only be there 2 hours as I watched it become 3 then 4 then 5 then 6. I did not start yawning at 8 PM and definitely did not say it was way passed my bedtime at 10. I did not come strolling back into my house at nearly 2 AM only to have a million funny stories and moments to share with Mr. Superman. That is something an anti-social, unconfident, clingy, wanting to spend every waking moment with her husband, person would do, not me.

This week I definitely did not hear noises outside my house, convince myself it was rain, only to stare out my windows for a good solid 10 minutes, wondering why I was so blind before I realized it was the garbage truck. That is something a slow-witted, just woke up and can't tell which way is up, person would do, not me.

What did you not do?
