Pillow Talk: What I Do To My Man at Night

Some of our recent pillow talk actually took place while I was in bed and Mr. Superman was getting all ABU'ed up.
Him: "Why were you playing with my nipples last night?"
Me: "What!? What are you talking about?"
Him: "I guess it wasn't really last night. It was 5 AM'ish and I had been waking up a little. I thought you were already awake because then you got super cuddly and started playing with my nipples."
Me: "I have no idea what you are talking about. Seriously."
Him: "Really? You always get frisky in the middle of the night and do things like that. If I weren't trying to sleep I'd really enjoy it but when I'm sleeping I just wonder why you're being so mean."
Me: "Because I play with your nipples?"
Him: "Yeah among other things."
Me: "Well Sweetie, I really don't remember that at all. It must've been another act of sleep-weirdness. I suppose we can just add it to the list of things I do while sleeping making it true that I really do do EVERYTHING in my sleep. Really though, I don't know why you're complaining. Most guys would love if their woman was trying to get all up on them in the middle of the night."

Friday I'm in Love!! Plus Friday Follow

Quickie Edit: I didn't want to do a separate post so I'm adding in the Friday Follow at the beginning. There are always fabulous blog finds! I love it.

Friday Follow

Yesterday, I registered for summer quarter. I am now currently enrolled in three classes amassing 9 1/2 credit hours. I think that's a lot for summer but maybe it's just because I am out of practice. I usually have school on Thursdays but class was canceled as a way to get presently-enrolled students to register early. I found out that the grant I should be receiving covers one hundred percent of tuition and fees but only 50 dollars worth of books. Guess how much my books cost.... OVER 300 DOLLARS!! I nearly had a heart attack. That's not even counting the 115 dollars I have to pay for my state exam that I need to take before I start my summer classes. Gah! School is so stressful. I won't even have Mr. Superman to lean on in July when school starts. He'll be TDY. He's excited, I'm dreading. Then again, he's tough, I'm a wussy, cry-baby.

Last night, since we are both horribly sick with these cold/flus (they are yucky to say the least), we went to Chili's for dinner. It was good. On the way home, he told me about some things he had begun to give some serious thinking to. The things he was talking about and bringing up kind of shocked me. They hit me out of nowhere. None of it was bad it was just.... unexpected. I guess the next three years will be more interesting than previously planned. I mean, yeah it's the military so it's like expect the unexpected, hurry up and wait, nothing is for certain but I was nonetheless surprised.

Moving on. Its Friday!! Woo! I have lots of blog reading, commenting, Questions for Mrs. S, oh and perhaps some cleaning, laundry, and dishes to catch up on.

This is Grandpa Alligator. He lives on base along with the many other alligators but he, unlike the many other alligators, is ancient. See his really giant jowels hanging down? This is Grandpa Alligator crossing the road near the bomb dump. Wanna know something funny about him? Every year, they tag him and move him to some animal preservation place. Guess what? Every year Grandpa Alligator travels hundreds of miles and comes back to his little hidey hole near the bomb dump here at Moody AFB. I find it funny. Just stop trying to move him. He knows what he likes and its obviously South Georgia, men in camo, and bombs.

POST EDIT* Mr. Superman found this video last night. I am in love! Its incredible. I then had to search for other songs by them. Go search them on YouTube. Amazing.

Fabulous Thursday Five!!

It's that time again. Thursday Five over at MannLand 5. It always seems that by this time in the week, I am in dire need of Thursday Five. It helps me think about all the good. You should come join in.

5 things that have made me..

Joyful

Excited

Grateful

Appreciative

Elated

or just plain

Happy

this week..

1) I have recently started recording Oprah. I am currently watching Tuesday's episode. You know, the one with all the Harpo Hook-ups and it has made me so happy. Seeing Will-I-Am saving those two families homes, and Justin Timberlake golfing with that chick, and right now Mr. Fine-As-All-Get-Out Usher singing. MMM yummy.

2) Three very simple words. Tomorrow.Is.Friday.

3) Mr. Superman. This is kind of a given but after this week, my gratitude and love and amazement at how incredible he is has been increased ten fold. He puts up with so much.  I am just in awe of him. I have also heard of 6 more cases of infidelity inside this military world, of people I personally know. It always makes me so sick and sad and just boggles my mind. Knowing that Mr. Superman and I are going to be a family for eternity just makes me so incredibly happy and thankful.

4) Music. I love my music. I love driving and listening to my music. My music depends on my mood. Today was a Shins, Simon & Garfunkel, Decemberists, Sia, Joshua Radin, Frou Frou kind of day. It doesn't make the world go away or fix the stress or problems I may have going on, but it does help me get out of myself and see things in a new light. I think one of our greatest blessings as humans, is music. I think it is one of God's greatest gifts to us.

5. All of you! You are all such incredibly inspiring women and I feel such a connection with all of you. Your crazy amount of support and concern is overwhelming. The way you all love and the way you all live, makes me want to be a better person.

Prayers, School, and Doctors (Oh My!!)

Sorry I've been a lame blogger lately. So much has gone on in the last few days. Most I can't really talk about, but if I have seemed all angsty/moody/sad/depressed/stressed lately, or haven't been commenting, its 'cause I have a lot going on. Sorry for being all cryptic but those of you who have let me know you're praying for me, it is greatly appreciated. I mean that is an understatement. I have felt some comfort come in the last 24 hours and I know its because of all the prayers on my behalf.

On a lighter note, guess what?! On Tuesday, while I was in school, I decided that I will be continuing school in the summer quarter! I'll hopefully have everything squared away tomorrow as far as registration goes. I (Mr. superman) filled out my very first FASFA yesterday. I really need it to come through otherwise the three crazy hard med classes I am signed up for will have to be dropped because they are also three very crazy expensive classes.

I had another dr's appt on base today. The PA I got was great. He wanted to order to more blood work ups to test for two things they missed the last time they ran the other 50. After the labs get back they are referring me to a hematologist (finally) and an ENT (ears, nose, throat dr.) Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be getting more answers, tips, and possible treatments for my HHT.

Sorry this is such a bummer/lame-o post! I'll get back to normal soon. You all are fabulous!

Also, I have 3 more followers to go until I hit 100! That is insane. I'm thinking once I hit a good solid number of like 125 or 150, I'll have another Giveaway. I'll be doing multiple winners too so get to spreading the love about me and make sure to grab my brand new button!

Dear Mrs. S. (Your Questions Answered!) Part 2

Questions from JG at Me and My Soldier Man (Fabulous Bloggy Friend):

Were you raised Mormon or were you converted?

I was born and raised Mormon. My mom was born and raised in the Church as well but my dad’s parents converted right before he turned 8 so he was baptized as well. His parents got divorced and fell away but he stayed active.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was little, the only thing I ever wanted to be was an actress. I danced for a long time, I did theater (both musical and non-musical), and I always enjoyed the stage. I wanted to be an actress so badly. When I was fourteen I gave up on the dream but kept dancing and acting for fun.

Top five favorite movies?

Just five? Oh come on! I love the entire Harry Potter series. That only counts as one. I love anything with Tom Hanks. I love Seven Pounds. I love good action movies. I’m all about the bang bang and explosions. Mr. Superman loves it. I love anything with Sandra Bullock too. I’m sorry I didn’t list five, it’s way too difficult.

Where do you want to be this time next year (personally, not geographically)?

I want to be as far away from where I am now as possible. I have so much work to do as far as getting my health back. I need to drop my spare 25 lbs. and get my HHT managed and under control. I want to be writing more and reading more. I want to be close to being out of debt. I want to have a handle on my emotions and all the things that have transpired in the last 14 months. I want to be able to talk about it all without fear and without breaking down.

Questions from Whitney at Everything Happens For a Reason (Bloggy Friend):

What kind of nursing do you want to specialize in?

Well…. I don’t know if I am going to stick with nursing but that is a whole separate story. Either a Labor & Delivery nurse, NICU, or PEDS.

What's the whole story on how you got together with Mr. Superman?

Oh that is a long story. Stick with me though ladies because it is a good one. I was engaged to another guy. The same guy I dated for a few years in high school. I had the ring, the date, about to buy my dress but I was miserable. It was a really bad situation. I got brave one night and went to my mom for help. After breaking down, she told me her and my dad would do anything for me to keep me safe and make me happy. I broke it off. About a month and a half later I was living three hours away and only my family and a few friends knew where I was. My first week there I met a guy. I forgot about said guy until a few days later when he and another guy just walked through the door of my friends trailer. Yes, trailer. We didn’t know these guys but they just walked in. They introduced themselves and invited us over to their trailer. It was actually the trailer of one of the guys I had met a few days earlier and I recognized him. None of my friends wanted to but I said yes. My friends thought I was crazy. Two strange guys? Yeah well, I have always been a guys’ girl.  The one guy who lived there, introduced me to his three roommates. One, I instantly connected with (it was not Mr. Superman), one I seriously thought was a mute, I mean kid you not (this WAS Mr. Superman), and one couldn’t handle my sarcasm and instantly hated me. He actually called me “The Mean Girl” for the first year he knew me. Anyways, after awhile, I noticed that Mr. Superman was the one guy that wouldn’t pay any attention to me. I took it as a personal challenge. I was dating his roommate by this time. You know, the one that picked me up in a trailer park? Definitely one of the most white trash moments of my life. I hung out with the rest of the guys all the time and Mr. Superman would never come along. Finally one night I called him and asked him if he wanted to come over for dinner and a movie. He said sure and asked if he could invite everyone else. I said no. Ha ha! Anyways I made him chicken and pasta and we watched the Interpreter. That’s when we found out we both love Nicole Kidman. We talked a ton that night and I thought it would take off from there. Wrong. It took me being over at his place ALL the time, making ALL the moves before he finally caught on. I asked him out first, I held his hand first, and when I realized he wasn’t in a hurry, I brought up our “status” first. One night I looked at him straight in the eye and asked, “When are you going to finally tell me how much you like me?” He got all embarrassed and said something like, “Well I do.” I said I knew but was wondering when he was gonna man up. After making him feel all awkward and fumbly for a few hours he finally asked me if I thought I could be his girlfriend. I said yes. Ha ha, then the next day I had to break it off completely with his roommate. The rest is history! This really was the shortshort version.

(A few months into dating, one of Mr. Superman's roommates taught me to skateboard. I practiced inside the trailer because I fell a lot so if I was inside, it didn't hurt as bad. Don't mind the nasty trailer, or the snowboarding goggles or the pink fuzzy slippers. The other picture: I tried to depants my man but he was super smart and had another pair of shorts on underneath. Tricky little man.)

Questions from Jaime at Fearfully, Wonderfully (Bloggy friend)

Tattoos? Got 'em?

Yes’m. One on my right shoulder blade and one behind my left ear.

Parents supportive of you being a military wifey?

Very. I don’t think anyone in my family really sees me as being any different than I was two years ago though. I mean they know he’s in the military and they know that he could be deployed and such, but I don’t think anyone really thinks of us as being any different. My mama and daddy are a lot more involved though. Always asking about his work and about how things work in the AF and such. My sister and brother-in-law are pretty fabulous about it all too.

Biggest pet peeve about your hubs?
Okay I don’t mean to be one of those nauseating women who are all like, “Oh my heavens! I just don’t know. I can’t find one bad thing about him at all! Gag, Gag, Gag…” Really though, I don’t know. I think one thing is that I can tell him something three or four times, bring it up a few weeks later, and he won’t remember. It tends to hurt my feelings and I’ll cry that he doesn’t listen to me but that’s not true. Its usually smaller stuff and I tend to be overemotional as it is.

Biggest pet peeve about yourself?

Well I already mentioned that I hate that when I get mad, I cry. I couldn’t think of anything else though so I asked Mr. Superman. He said he hates that I am a “picker”. It’s true, and gnarly, and gross but I pick. Bumps, zits, anything. He said, “I hate when you go to scratch my back and I think you’re being nice but then it turns into you picking.” Ha ha I am laughing right now because it is so true and I just can’t help it!

Questions from Ria at Life as a Wife (Bloggy Friend):

What are you most passionate about?

I am extremely passionate about children. I know I probably am starting to sound like a broken record but babies, children, their education, Pro-Life, children in foster care, adoption… Everything about kids. I get really enflamed about politics and my beliefs. I’m also pretty dang passionate about Mr. Superman. You knowOoh la la!

What is it that makes you wake up in the morning and tick?

Right now it’s the alarm clock. Just kidding! Not really but I don’t feel like I have anything that makes me tick per say. I am alive because of the life God blessed me with. I am alive because Mr. Superman saved me. I am alive because I have work to do here, I just haven’t quite figured it out yet. Right now, I get up, and I try my best to be the woman Mr. Superman deserves. I try to make myself better and more worthy of motherhood. I think I have a long ways to go and a lot of baggage to sort through and unpack before God is ready to hand over one of his precious children to us.

When are you and Mr. S planning on starting a family??

We have been trying to have children from day one. We never used BC and both wanted a baby so badly. We have lost two and after surgeries, illness, and disease diagnoses, we have felt our path turned towards adoption. We are trying to get more financially stable and get rid of as much debt as possible before adopting.

Questions from Whitney at Army Wife (Bloggy Friend):

What day is your anniversary? Cause ours is the 13th of October 2007!!! Crazy I know same month and year!!!

We got married on October 19, 2007! I know that is crazy for sure. You beat us by a week. We had our original date as November 9, 2007 but moved it up. One of my brothers got married about a month before us so we wanted to give my poor mom some rest before delving into another wedding/reception. We also had to work around hunting season. No, I am not joking. After my dad sat down and figured out his hunting trips, the two dates we were left with were the afore mentioned.

How do you find other young couples in the military that are LDS too??

To be completely honest, I think we have met maybe two LDS Mil couples. They were both in our ward too and just quickly introduced themselves. They both were easily 10 years older with 4+ kiddos. I am hoping another young couple gets here soon. It’s getting ridiculous.

Questions from Steph at Watching Airplanes (Bloggy Friend):

What is one food that you could eat everyday for the rest of your life?

Well I would only eat it everyday if I didn’t gain any weight! I could eat Italian food everyday. If we’re being realistic here though, something I do have nearly everyday is oatmeal. Its super healthy and its also part of my diet. I put in some low fat butter, honey, and low fat milk so its naturally sweetened and it is just so tasty!

Questions from Abby at Dogtags & Pearls (Bloggy Friend):

What kind of cake is your favorite?

CHEESECAKE!! I am not a cake person at all. Mr. Superman loves cold Funfetti cake though so this year, when I made his shop cupcakes for his b-day, I indulged in a few. I would still take cheesecake over it though.

How do you handle everything? I think you should have the title of superwoman... just sayin’ :]

First off, you’re sweet! I really don’t see myself as “handling” things. I feel like I fall so short of what I should be able to do. I have breakdowns every other day if not daily. The physical pain of everything I have going on is something I have just accepted as a normal part of MY life. All of the emotional baggage I have dragging behind me really gets the better part of me more often than not. The only reason I haven’t lost my sanity yet is because of Mr. Superman.

Questions from Robyn at Team Mama (My MIL):

Are you going to have a party for graduation on June 7th?

No. Ha ha! I mean, who on earth would we invite? Really though, its just me getting done with a 10-week course so its not that big of a deal. Right now, I feel like I’m dying from the work and stress of it all but other people do more amazing things every day so, no.

Where would you like to be posted after Valdosta?

We are really holding out for hopefully being able to return to AZ next year. We want to get in an overseas post as well as one back East before retirement. We would both LOVE to go to Guam too.

Questions from Katie (My SIL):

Who's your favorite sister-in-law?

Tsk tsk Miss Katie. Now how can I choose between six SIL’s? I can’t! I won’t!

What's your top choices for boys/girls names?

Oh man I don’t know if I’m allowed to share these. We are very protective over baby names and don’t want to risk someone we’re related to using the name before we can. We chose baby names while dating so we have first claim! Okay Mr. Superman says I cannot share. Sorry! There are way too many duplicate names going on in our families as it is so we are not willing to chance it.

Dark Knight, or Batman Begins?

Oh difficult, difficult. In fear of sounding like a cliché, I have to go with The Dark Knight. I’m sure I’ll like the third installment, coming 2012, better though. I think that the Batman series is going to be an exception when it comes to sequels not being as good as the first.

Favorite Harry Potter book?

Warning: Harry Potter nerd-speak coming up. This is a toughie too! I enjoy the fourth, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but I like bits of the fifth, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix as well. He’s much too angsty for my liking for the bulk of it though. I can’t really enjoy the sixth, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince because I am dreading the ending the entire time but I do love the developments in the relationship between Harry and Dumbledore. Now I think I’ll sound like a cliché here too but my favorite altogether is the seventh book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Celebrity you want as your best friend? Hahaha random!

Oh boy! As stated before, for very selfish reasons, I would like to have a well-known female journalist/talk show host/public figure as my best friend.

State you most want to live in? (Hint: It starts with a U)

Oh dear. I think Mr. Superman’s family may not like this answer, but we hate Utah. Utah was NOT good to us. We have lots of places we would like to live but our “home” is Arizona. That is where we will end up.

Awards!!

Oh how I love thee dear blog lovelies! Every one of you makes me smile!! I have received two awards in the last few days, and one of them TWICE!! You are too good to me :)

I got the Sweet Blog Award from two fabulous bloggers. Tylaine from Just Me and Nicole from Flip Flops & Combat Boots. These ladies are so sweet! Ha I know that's what the award is for but I don't feel like my blog is all that great let alone that I'm very sweet. Anyways, thanks ladies!!

I also got the Versatile Blogger Award from Whitney at Army Wife. Thanks! I try to be interesting but I think I fail more often than not.

I know there are rules to awards and giving them out and stuff but... You all know I don't follow rules. My rules are that all of you should take these but only if you go and follow the fantastic women who gave them to me! Seriously, if you aren't already a follower, these ladies are the bee's knees.

Not Me!!

Yes! It's that time of the week. I think its seriously the only good thing about my Mondays as of late. I apologize that the last few weeks have not been very good. Oh well. Come join in the fun. You won't regret it. If anything, you'll instantly feel better about yourself and your crazy week of "did not's" by reading everyone elses! Ain't MckMama the best?!

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

This week, I did not stay up way past my self-designated bedtime multiple times to watch my team kick major Spurs butt. I didn't scream at the television every five seconds whether it be at the Ref's, players, or the time clock. I didn't get super invested into every game, giving full support to my team, only to have them put me on pins and needles during the fourth quarter. That is something a ridiculously, over-zealous sports fan would do, not me.

While watching said games, I definitely didn't spout off venom filled words towards Ginobili because I can't stand him. I didn't make fun of his nose brace or point out that his nose is now even more gnarly. I didn't tell Mr. Superman that I think Ginobili looks like a garden gnome. I also did not praise Dragic for hours and proclaim my love for him. I don't take that much stock in sports. That is something a man would do, not me.

During last night's game, I definitely did not physically jump up several times nor did I grip Mr. Superman's arm hard enough it made him say, "Ow". I didn't scream, or get shaky nervous, or cry when my team won. I haven't been waiting for the Suns to sweep (or win for that matter) the Spurs in the semi-finals for YEARS. I did not proceed to then dream about Steve Nash, Mr. Superman playing for the Suns, and me tweeting about it. I most certainly did not check my Twitter account when I woke up to make sure that I didn't in fact actually tweet about Mr. Superman playing for the Suns. I don't do weird things in my sleep. I don't get THAT into my team. I don't have dreams about real life my fantasies a slew of bizarre things. That is something a far fetched-dreamer/do everything in their sleep weirdo/over-enthusiastic on a Nascar level sports fan would do, not me.

I totally didn't stress over the zit I found growing on my chin yesterday. I didn't put twenty different coats of zit medicine on it last night in hopes of stopping the nasty bugger from sticking around. I most absolutely did not have a breakdown over the fact that it was still on my face (and bigger!) this morning when I woke up. That is something an over-emotional teenager would do, not me.

Happy Monday!!

GTKY from MannLand5

I found this at Flip Flops & Combat Boots. She found it at MannLand5. I missed out on Thankful Thursday so I thought I'd join in for Getting to Know You Sunday on SATURDAY! It got switched this week since Sunday is Mommy Day.

1. What has been your most memorable Mother's Day? (with your mom, as a mom, or with your wife)

I think it would have to be Mother's Day 2009. We lost our angel baby #2 barely over a month before and I was struggling hardcore. Someone who shall remain nameless, said something about me not being a real mom and I lost it. I remember Mr. Superman calming me down and then me calling my mom and sister and just breaking down. I know its kind of depressing but it is my most memorable.

2. Have you ever been pulled over for speeding and were you able to talk your way out of it?

Ha! My brother's a cop and I never got out of anything. I got a speeding ticket when I was 16 and one when I was 17. Since then I have been extraordinarily paranoid about speeding. I set my cruise control 3-5 mph over the posted limit even if its only 35 mph. I don't care how many people blow past me or ride my bumper.

3. What's the oldest thing you have hanging in your closet?

Oh boy I don't know. I have sweatpants and pajama shirts from 7th grade that still fit me. Does that count?

4. Do you whiten your teeth?

I do. Well I went through three boxes of whitening strips after my invisalign then had to lay off for a year. I use whitening gum and whitening toothpaste and want to get the white trays so bad! They are kind of expensive though. I am obsessed with white teeth.

5. Underwear or Panties..What do you call your "unmentionables"?

HMMM panties or undies? I don't know. I don't really pay attention. Sometimes chonies.

6. If you could go on vacation right now..today..where would you go?

As bad as I would love to go home to see my family and friends, I think I'd still choose The Bahamas. We need major r&r.

7. Do you get offended when people cuss on their blogs?

No not really. It's their blog. If people don't like what they read, they can choose not read it.

8. If you had to give up one luxury item, it would be....?

This one is hard. If I HAD to, I think I would have to choose my camera. I have a camera on my phone so I'd suffer through with phone pics.

How about you? What are YOUR answers? To join in, go check it out at MannLand5!!

Winner Announced!!!

Alright, after my OVERWHELMING response to my Q&A and Giveaway, it was time to draw the winner. I tried to rope Mr. Superman into drawing so no one would be mad at me! Ha ha, didn't work :) Don't mind my "just woke up and have a cold" voice or the mess behind me or anything but the winner for that matter. Yay for the winner!!!

Congrats Nicole!!! You're the best. I'll be emailing you to find out what you want so I can order it!

Shout Out to my Boys!!!

Dude. Did anyone see last night's game between the Suns & the Spurs? If not, you missed out. The last 6 out of 7 series between these two teams has resulted in ridiculous losses on the Suns end. I'm not just being a hardcore fan right now, I mean one year there was a ref who admitted to throwing the series AFTER the Spurs won. The Spurs are a dirty team. Hate them. Ha ha! Anyways, hate Ginobili, love Dragic.

He is incredible.
