I'm a Guest Blogger!!

I know most of you are all in love with Flip Flops & Combat Boots as much as I am and lucky me, she asked me to be a guest blogger. My post landed on her page today. Ya'll should be sure to click on the link to read my post but also keep reading her. She is incredible.

Day 19- A Talent I Have

Well.... I used to dance and I played basketball in high school. I'm a talker which is not to be confused with stalker which I do on blogs. I enjoy writing but I don't know if I'm and good at it. I also am a really good listener. I always feel like helping people and I think there's just something about me that encourages people to open up. I'll keep your secrets forever and give you my shoulder to cry on. That's about it. Kinda boring eh?

Pillow Talk: Shine Baby Shine!

Let me set it up for you. Mr. Superman and I sitting on the couch just hanging out. I grab the lap top and decide it is time we start taking pictures again. We used to take pictures ALL the time and now we never do. I pull up Photobooth and this ensues.

Me: Baby take a picture with me. No do your real smile, come on, stop being a nerd.
Him: I always have a glare, I hate it.
Me: Sweetie we've talked about this. You think its a much bigger deal than it is. You're bald, you're bound to have a glare. Its fine. I love your bald head.

SILENCE

Him: (Looking at me with a death stare combined with a "Did you seriously just say that?" look) I was talking about a glare on my GLASSES.

Me: Oh.

SILENCE

Him: Nice.

Day 18- Whatever Tickles My Fancy

I was going through some old videos and found this one that my BFF Brighteyes recorded at Mr. Superman's BMT Graduation. We hadn't seen each other in 9 1/2 weeks (our first separation since marriage ever!) and I was a bundle of nerves and emotions. I was also tan, skinny, and had short blond hair. Look how much changes in 10 months! Enjoy!

I had two readers whose pages wouldn't load the video but it is posted on my YouTube. Just in case anyone else is having those issues, you can view it HERE

Day 17 - An Art Piece (Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, etc.)

I love art, I do, but my favorites are usually photos turned paintings or just fabulous photos altogether. I love Scott Mutter. I think his work is incredible.

I've had this hanging in my room since I was a junior in high school. I was so sad when he died in 2008. His other stuff if great too. You should check him out HERE.

I also really like funky stuff like what Ynon Mabet does. They're photos but the colors just get me.

To look at more of his stuff you can go HERE.

Of course I like all the classic art from Salvador Dali, Leonardo Da Vinci, Claude Monet,  Henri Rousseau, Vincent Van Gogh... I also love Andy Warhol's stuff.

When we finally make it over to Europe, our trip will consist of visiting all the fabulous museums and cathedrals and soaking in all the ART. I love old architecture and am a total sucker for things people may look at as archaic.

What's some of your favorite art?

Fabulous Thursday Five!!

Come join in over at MannLand5. It's a blast!

The rules are simple: Wanna play? All you have to do is post 5 things that have made you

Jubilant

Giddy

Excited

Thankful

Stoked

Basically... just post 5 things that have made you happy then head back to MannLand5 to get your link on!
1) Today was my final for my CNA course and I got a 97% without studying!  (I studied 5/24 chapters on Monday) SUH-WEET!

2) Mr. Superman's 14 hour shifts should be over by Sunday at the latest. That is sweet music to my ears ya'll.

3) One of Mr. Superman's best friends from high school who was a groomsman at our wedding and also happens to be the roommate who dubbed me "The Mean Girl" for the first year of knowing me, got engaged! We got a phone call at midnight on Tuesday (I don't remember it at all) and when we finally got in touch later, he told us the good news. We are so happy and excited for him. PLUS, this means a trip home to Arizona in September!!!!

4) Tomorrow is Friday! Normally this would mean 2 days with Mr. Superman but since we still have the Phase 2 exercise war games goin' on, this means I have two days to get caught up with everyone's blogs! I am soooo behind and I've missed you lovelies!

5) Now that I am done with my CNA class (nearly) and finished with clinicals, I can finally start painting my fingernails again! Boy have I missed it!

Happy Thursday sweeties!

Day 16- A Song That Makes Me Cry (Or nearly)

Well we all know by now there isn't any such thing as Mrs. S. nearly crying. Its all out, two box of tissues, cry at everything for me. I cry everyday. Whether it be seeing pictures, reading stories, hearing songs, watching videos, or me just being a cry-baby, it happens at least once everyday. See why Mr. Superman is a saint? I couldn't just pick one either. Ignore the fact that most of the videos are lyrics or ridiculously cheesy graphics. I know they are all sappy love songs but I can't help myself.

Right Here Waiting For You: Richard Marx (I have loved this song since I was little but when Mr. Superman and I met, we found out we both loved it.)

(Everything I Do) I do It For You: Bryan Adams (Again, loved it since I was little. This describes us to a Tee)

Then: Brad Paisley (This came out while Mr. Superman was at BMT. I always cried and still do)

Love Me: Colin Raye (This is one of the very first songs I ever learned when I was like 5. I've always loved it.)

Don't Take The Girl: Tim McGraw (Another one I learned at age 5. I wanted to sing it at my elementary talent show but another guy did.)

I'm Already There: Lonestar (Does this one need explanation?)

I have SO many more but I'm going to stop myself.

What's a song that makes you cry?

Day 15- A FanFic

Okay I'm not usually a fan of FanFic but there are some funny ones out there. There are thousands out there about the Twilight saga and my SIL sent me a link to some hilarious illegal foreign Harry Potter spin-offs.

Twilight Saga

Here is the link to a page listing 11 of the most ridiculous HP ones.

Harry Potter

Today's post is kinda boring eh? Sorry Charlie's, I gotta call the clinic to see if I can come in and get some pain meds or if I need to head to the ER. We started a Phase 2 exercise today so a lot of stuff is shut down and that's why Mr. Superman is on 14 hour shifts. My pain dilemna right now is due to ridiculous mouth/wisdom tooth pain. Bad luck is my Tricare dental doesn't kick in until July 1st. Then I'll be really screwed because he'll be gone for a month and I can't very well get my wisdom teeth out while he's gone. Its life I suppose. Right now I use oragel but its to the point it only lasts two minutes before it wears off. Fun fun!

Happy Hump Day ya'll!!

Day 14- A Non-Fictional Book

I know I mentioned this from Day 4 but when thinking about 'non-fictional' books that have actually touched me and made me think, this was at the forefront of my mind. I just love everything Mitch Albom has to say but this particular book of his is so involved and every point is just driven home. He has phenomenal life experiences and I am so glad he made the decision to share them with the world. He is such a talented writer.

Two of my favorite quotes from the book. The first because, well I'm 22 and even though I joke about never wanting to grow old and being terrified about it, I am looking forward to it. The second because trust is one of the most important things to me.

"As you grow old, you learn more. If you stayed at twenty-two, you'd always be as ignorant as you were at twenty-two. Aging is not just decay, you know. It's growth. It's more than the negative that you're going to die, its also the positive that you understand you're going to die, and that you live a better life because of it."

"You closed your eyes. That was the difference. Sometimes you cannot believe what you see, you have to believe what you feel. And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel that you can trust them too-even when you are in the dark. Even when you're falling."

What's your favorite non-fictional book?

Sporadic I'm Back!

I know I have been MIA over the last week but I'm back! Clinicals... well they didn't go off without a hitch but they are over now. Big huge woot woot for that right there.

Today was supposed to be my final so yesterday I had gotten together with two friends, Ashley and Leman, to study our hearts out. We show up today and since a few of the 'blessed ones' (the teachers favorites who get away with ANYTHING) couldn't be bothered to show up today, the final got moved to Thursday on their behalf. NICE. Since our certifications depend on our hours accumulated, we had to sit there for four hours doin' nothing. It was a blast. Now I just have to get the final done on Thursday and then paperwork on Monday. After the class wraps it'll be time to start crackin' on studying for the state boards. I also, start training for a new job on the 7th. Its for a call center doing customer surveys for an outrageous number of car dealerships across North America and its only 8/hr (my lowest pay by far for 4 years) but its a job and that's better than nothing. I'll have two weeks of training 6-10 PM (ewie) and then working 6-11 PM weekdays and 6 hours on weekends. It'll mean less time with Mr. Superman, which will be the hardest thing by far about going back to work, but I am grateful that after 7 months of job hunting/applying/turn downs, I finally have one. I'll also still be applying and keeping an eye out for some great NA jobs. I'm looking into Hospice, Home Health Care, and the hospitals here and in surrounding towns. Keep me in your prayers!

Another yucky change coming up is Mr. Superman starting swings. We both HATE the fact that he got changed because the guy over shifts hates everyone in the shop and is butt hurt he has no friends but we can do nothing about it. It is what it is. His TDY also has been changed from 12 days to 30 days. I know we're lucky he is home most of the time and hasn't been deployed yet but this will be the first time we're apart since Tech School. Yeah, sometimes I forget how NEWBIE we are. He'll be fine, I'm the one on the verge of an emotional breakdown. Le sigh.

I also know I've been getting awards from all you sweethearts but I am a total slacker! I've seen a huge bulk of my readers and favorite bloggers receiving them now too though so I won't be passing them on. Just know I am grateful and love them! Keep 'em coming dear ones! I am in the midst of creating pages and finally transferred the awards to a page at the top from my right sidebar. Also be sure to check out all of the Dear Mrs. S. posts. It's probably more than most wanted to ever know about me but you asked, I told. PLEASE let me know if I somehow missed your question(s). Thanks again for all of the questions. I really enjoyed answering them all.

Speaking of awards, I was given another fabulous award by G.I. Joe's Wife today. Thanks woman! Ya'll should check her out. She's incredible. Since this is a new'ish one and its recent, I will be passing this one on.

The rules...

• To receive this award, promise to share this with 5 other BLOGS that you think are Trendy too.
• Post about your award in your blog.
• List your Top 5 Trendy Blogs.
• Share with them.

I'm giving this award to a few blogs (I wish I could list them all!) that I absolutely love. These ladies have lots to share and are all fab. Go check 'em out!

A Deployment Diary {In Hawaii}
It's A Hooah Life
Flip Flops & Combat Boots
Riding The Roller Coaster
Le Chateau Des Fleurs

I also got a fabulous little package in the mail awhile back from the lovely Katie over at Diary of a Disgruntled Marine Girlfriend from winning her giveaway. I've been using the little leopard tote for a week. Love it girl!

If you are a real life friend/family member then you may have noticed I took my Family & Friends link lists off of my sidebar. Don't worry, I'm still reading :) I just bookmarked them all on my comp so all of my other readers can't have access to your private lives. More for the creepers I can't see than all of my followers.

I also need to give a huge shout out and thank you to Wife on the Roller Coaster. She knows why but I wanted to publicly acknowledge her. Ya'll will find out why soon, but for now, if you don't already follow her/read her blog, you should. She is great and such an inspiration!

For blog followers adding me on Twitter and Facebook, make sure to let me know who you are! I'll add you, I just need to be able to keep you all straight! Also for NEW FOLLOWERS, just leave me a quickie comment letting me know you're reading. For the most part I can track you down and check out your blogs and get to know you in return, but a few are MIA and I just love being able to interact with you.

Random side note: Loving The Bachelorette so far. Also, I nearly cried when LA won at PHX. I couldn't complain because for the most part, we were just outplayed. I can't stand Kobe though. Now that its down to the Celtics and Lakers, I am finding myself on the Celtics side. Never ever thought I'd see that day. My loyalties gotta lie with them though since they are the lesser of two evils (barely). Okay enough sports talk.

I think that is all of my sporadic news/info share. Hopefully. I'll be getting back into the swing of reading and commenting soon I promise! Thanks for sticking with me ya'll!
