Sleep Like A...

Rock. Ah... if only.

Sleep is something my body obviously has issues with. I have tried all sorts of natural remedies, over the counter sleep aids, and I finally went in to get Ambien from my PA only to have it make me horribly ill. I can't fall asleep without listening to an audiobook and when Mr. Superman is gone, sleep is more than a lost cause. Yoga exercises and deep breathing used to help (I'm talking three years ago) but now its just yoga exercises and deep breathing.

The last two nights, Mr. Superman has tried to be extra helpful in helping me fall asleep by wishing me a goodnight in a creative way.

Sunday night came and as we were crawling onto our air mattress (all our real furniture is in storage), he said his normal "I love you's" and "Sweet dreams." He added in a "Baby, sleep like an angel okay" and it just melted my heart. Monday morning came and he asked if I had indeed slept like an angel. Upon hearing that my answer was, "Not really" he let me know he'd have a different sleep wish that night. Sure enough, last night found us again in bed and giving our goodnight kisses and saying our "I love you's" and as I was curling up under the blanket I heard Mr. Superman say, "Please sleep like a koala tonight. They are really cuddly and soft and really good at sleeping."

He just makes my heart smile. I'm quite looking forward to what he has to say tonight.

My heart melted too :) I hope you get some good night's sleep too! (In this day and age it's certainly hard to come by.)

Oh, sleep like a koala. That's too cute. Oh, man, I miss sleep. It turns out my husband is actually having better sleep than me. He slept for 12 hours a few nights ago. WTH? Fair? I think not. I think you need an insomniac-busting massage. One of my clients today was suffereing from insomnia and feel asleep on my table. After the session ended I quietly exited and he ended up sleeping for 30 minutes after that.

Aww! That's to cute.. how sweet! I have the worst time falling sleep too. I only sleep well if I had a really busy night at work and I'm just dead tired. Otherwise I have to fall sleep to the tv or music and that isn't even usually until 0130-0200ish. A glass of wine or two actually helps too! {not every night though of course lol}

I wish you happy sleeping tonight! I hope you get a good nights rest!

ok, I will pass along a sleep tip...try rubbing lavender oil on your feet before bed time....use a generous amount! It can be really calming....and help induce sleep! worth a try!

I'm dying; that is so cute!

I know they say not to read before bed, but maybe if you started trying to read some IRS tax law you'd pass out...

(I know that kind of stuff works for me!)

I LOVE your blog, but I'm having trouble reading it because of the background! The font blends into the verticle lines that you have chosen!

My husband and I are Mormon as well, and your story about your pregnancies touched my heart.

We're waiting to find out if my husband can join the Navy, as he has had medical problems in the past. I'm reading all the blogs from these wonderful Navy wives and hoping that he will be able to enlist and I can make my blog more "Navy" oriented.

Too cute!!! I have a lot of trouble with that sleeping thing too. But I don't have an adorable Mr. Superman to wish me fun and thoughtful sleeps like you do! :-)
