Big Fatty Thank You

In the last 9 months or so I have been so blessed to be able to become a part of this awesome Blogging Community and even moreso, the Mili(tary) Blogging Community. When I made the decision to jump in and change from an all family blog to something a little more substantial, I never dreamed I'd gain readers or make actual friends who I now consider dear to my heart. As I got better at this blogging thing, I then started receiving cutesy awards that never failed to put a giant smile on my face. Even though I loved having these posted in my sidebar which eventually graduated to an awards page up top, its come time to delete them. I am so happy for all those who passed them on but its time. Award Season in Blogland

I usually feel terrible when I am given an award by a blog reader and I don't post about it. Its one of those things where I was real gung-ho about it at first and as more time goes on, my follow through dwindled. I am super appreciative though.


A long time ago, Allie from My Marine and Me gave me the Happy 101 Award. Thanks dollface!

A Shepherd's Stew of a Post

This is my first "this is what we have been up to lately" post in a very very long time. I'm excited because I actually have stuff to talk about. Ha! I am such a nerd.

Well for those who are completely out of touch with everything important aka my blog, twitter and FB account who may be behind on blog reading, this last week was crazy. My car baby developed a red ant and giant black ant infestation. If only we could have fumigated. My car baby also got very sick and needed some surgery and organ transplants. I'll just say that we are extremely blessed and grateful for our families. We really are extraordinarily lucky.

I also had some ER visits and doctors appointments. I am waiting on more referrals and thanks to some fabulous advice from my friend Leman, we have some hope glimmering at the end of one of our life decision tunnels. Seriously stoked about some news and possible treatments in our future.

Saturday found us sleeping in and then venturing out to the newly remodeled and reopened base pool. Dude. It was incredible. It felt so good to swim! We then ran some errands and picked up some things from Walmart. We headed over to Leman (my good friend) and Jay (her husband)'s apartment for some hang out time. Mr. Superman and Jay went to the store and picked up lasagna, salad, cheese bread, and cheese cake which we devoured later in the night. Us girls swam and then after dinner we headed to their storage garage to dig out a fantastic dining table set they GAVE to us. They are amazing. We then swam again until the pool closed. When we left I asked if Mr. Superman had had a good time. His response? "Its so weird and a little hard to get over hanging out with a Master Sergeant." Mr. Superman is an A1C (we're newbies remember?) Yeah I suppose it is for him. Ha ha I don't see rank.

Sunday was church bright and early. I was exhausted. A touch of sunburn combined with the previous day of swimming and going to bed later than usual made for a very difficult and tiring day. I also had to work which is always blech especially on Sunday. When I came home from work I saw that my incredible husband had done the literal MOUNTAIN of laundry. All I had to do was finish folding and hanging it up. He had tackled the daunting task of separating, sorting, and getting it all right side out. He also had done the dishes and wiped down the kitchen. He got a big smooch for his amazingness. Last night was a massive storm that made it extremely difficult to fall asleep. I know I've mentioned it before but the woods behind our house attract lightning like nothing else. We counted a good seven strikes right next to the house. I hate when the house is shaking and when things fall from the shock of it all.

Today is consisting of major cleaning, finishing a project I have going on for the master bedroom, trimming the hedges and bushes out front, sweeping both patios off, spraying for bugs inside and out, weeding the front beds, catching up on my bloggy friends and trying to make sure my man is fed when he gets home. I do have a few quick things to share before I bid adieu.

Awesome Awards!

So I am so late on posting this first one which I received from The Annoyed Army Wife a while back. I didn't forget I am just uber slow. Sorry. I know two other bloggers awarded it to me as well, but I can't remember who it was. Let me know if it was you, and I'll add your name on the Awards Page :)

Since this is from a couple weeks ago, I think its made its rounds so I won't be passing this one on. I also received this beauty from Flip Flops & Combat Boots this morning.

The rules for this one is to say 10 things about yourself then pass it on to 10 people. Lets see how well I do eh?

1) I have had every color of the rainbow in my HAIR. Not once was it ever a joke. Call me a creative teen.

2) I named my car two days after purchasing her. She is a Ford Explorer XLT and my graduation present to myself in 2006. Her name is Cadence Avalee.

3) Mr. Superman lets me know how utterly OCD I am. I canNOT, I mean CANNOT wash just half a uniform. He doesn't wear his ABU tops except in the car to get on and off base. They come home just as clean as they leave but I can't just wash ABU pants. I wash whole sets no matter what.

4) I thoroughly enjoying organizing and cleaning. Weird I know but its even more fun when its someone elses stuff.

5) I haven't seen my natural hair color since I was 15.

6) I was really sick and on Vicoden on my wedding day/first honeymoon and on a breathing machine and had pneumonia on our real "second" honeymoon to California. It never fails. Within two weeks of us going anywhere for some sort of trip or vacation I get sick. Bronchitis, cysts, surgery, pneumonia, miscarriage, vomiting, stomach flu.... Name it I had it and it was most likely right before vacation.

I can't think of anything else to share. I want to pass this onto a few Sugar Dolls of my own!

Not Me!!

This week, I most definitely did not threaten Mr. Superman and proceed to give him double titty-twisters until he spilled his guts on where he had hidden my last few cream sodas. I most definitely did not go all Middle-Eastern Torturer on his butt when he refused to tell me. Now Mr. Superman hasn't gone through Intimidation and Interrogation training but that man has skills. At the thought of losing his nipples, he never caved. I certainly did not give up after a short 30 seconds upon realization that my man had me beat. That is something a weak and unstable woman with crazy addiction and cravings for cream soda would do, not me.

National security crisis averted. I found my cream soda.

Sporadic I'm Back!

I know I have been MIA over the last week but I'm back! Clinicals... well they didn't go off without a hitch but they are over now. Big huge woot woot for that right there.

Today was supposed to be my final so yesterday I had gotten together with two friends, Ashley and Leman, to study our hearts out. We show up today and since a few of the 'blessed ones' (the teachers favorites who get away with ANYTHING) couldn't be bothered to show up today, the final got moved to Thursday on their behalf. NICE. Since our certifications depend on our hours accumulated, we had to sit there for four hours doin' nothing. It was a blast. Now I just have to get the final done on Thursday and then paperwork on Monday. After the class wraps it'll be time to start crackin' on studying for the state boards. I also, start training for a new job on the 7th. Its for a call center doing customer surveys for an outrageous number of car dealerships across North America and its only 8/hr (my lowest pay by far for 4 years) but its a job and that's better than nothing. I'll have two weeks of training 6-10 PM (ewie) and then working 6-11 PM weekdays and 6 hours on weekends. It'll mean less time with Mr. Superman, which will be the hardest thing by far about going back to work, but I am grateful that after 7 months of job hunting/applying/turn downs, I finally have one. I'll also still be applying and keeping an eye out for some great NA jobs. I'm looking into Hospice, Home Health Care, and the hospitals here and in surrounding towns. Keep me in your prayers!

Another yucky change coming up is Mr. Superman starting swings. We both HATE the fact that he got changed because the guy over shifts hates everyone in the shop and is butt hurt he has no friends but we can do nothing about it. It is what it is. His TDY also has been changed from 12 days to 30 days. I know we're lucky he is home most of the time and hasn't been deployed yet but this will be the first time we're apart since Tech School. Yeah, sometimes I forget how NEWBIE we are. He'll be fine, I'm the one on the verge of an emotional breakdown. Le sigh. 

I also know I've been getting awards from all you sweethearts but I am a total slacker! I've seen a huge bulk of my readers and favorite bloggers receiving them now too though so I won't be passing them on. Just know I am grateful and love them! Keep 'em coming dear ones! I am in the midst of creating pages and finally transferred the awards to a page at the top from my right sidebar. Also be sure to check out all of the Dear Mrs. S. posts. It's probably more than most wanted to ever know about me but you asked, I told. PLEASE let me know if I somehow missed your question(s). Thanks again for all of the questions. Random side note: Loving The Bachelorette so far. Also, I nearly cried when LA won at PHX. I couldn't complain because for the most part, we were just outplayed. I can't stand Kobe though. Now that its down to the Celtics and Lakers, I am finding myself on the Celtics side. Never ever thought I'd see that day. My loyalties gotta lie with them though since they are the lesser of two evils (barely). Okay enough sports talk.

Oh how I love thee dear blog lovelies! Every one of you makes me smile!! I have received two awards in the last few days, and one of them TWICE!! You are too good to me :)

I got the Sweet Blog Award from two fabulous bloggers. Tylaine from Just Me and Nicole from Flip Flops & Combat Boots. These ladies are so sweet! Ha I know that's what the award is for but I don't feel like my blog is all that great let alone that I'm very sweet. Anyways, thanks ladies!!

I also got the Versatile Blogger Award from Whitney at Army Wife. Thanks! I try to be interesting but I think I fail more often than not.

I know there are rules to awards and giving them out and stuff but... You all know I don't follow rules. My rules are that all of you should take these but only if you go and follow the fantastic women who gave them to me! Seriously, if you aren't already a follower, these ladies are the bee's knees.

She Loves My Blog!!!

Oh my oh my! I love when I wake up and I come to do my blogging and I find an award waiting for me. SUH-WEET! One of my blog friends (you should check her out she's incredible) over at Flip Flops & Combat Boots, had this one waiting for me. I too, love your blog missy! So Now I have to list ten things I love and then give it to a few people.

1. I love Mr. Superman. Everything about him. Every quirk, habit, smile, laugh... Every detail about him. Love.

2. I love my family. My parents are the best ever. I have four brothers (three married) and one sister (married) and they are all fantastic. My sister is one of my best friends. Throw in the current number of 12 nieces and nephews and it makes it even better.

3. I love working out. Up until recently I wasn't consistent and I still complain about it but I do love working out. I love waking up sore. It means its working :)

4. I love music. Everything about it. I listen to pretty much anything. I love guitars, and drums, and pianos. Love love love!

5. I love a good lotion. I have to lotion my entire body every night otherwise I feel yucky. I like having soft skin and I love a good smelling, silky smooth lotion.

6. I love cleaning. I am super ocd but I love cleaning the blinds, window seals, fans, base boards, walls, floors, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, organizing. Anything to do with cleaning.... except dishes.

7. I love food. Mainly my vice food which is a long list. Bread and butter, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, fried food, hot chocolate chip cookies, ice cream, truffles... Oh dear now I'm hungry.

8. I love a good book.

9. I love all forms of art. Photography, architecture, paintings, dance, theater... all art.

10 . I love decorating and being creative. If you didn't have to go to school for it, I would totally be an interior designer and I'd rock it!
