Pillow Talk: Dolly Parton & Balloon Animals

I know its all ya'lls favorite thing ever. Pillow Talk!

I'm sure you all know about men and their fascination with breasts. Well mine (The Twins) are hefty a pain in my back healthy large and at age 22 I know they are already not so perky because of their size and the fact that I spent so much time in not-so-supportive sports bras dancing and playing basketball. I am always telling Mr. Superman about how I want a lift. Earlier this week, he finally came up with a solution.

Him: I'll get you a lift. Maybe when you're like 60 we'll get you a lift or implants and you can have the boobs of a 22 year old again. Only better. We'll get you helium implants so they can be huge but super lightweight. You'll never have to worry about them sagging because they'll float and be really perky. Better than Dolly Parton.

Me: But baby they'll pop! Helium balloons pop so easily. It'll be horrible because then they'll pop and I'll just have extra skin flapping around. It'll be super gnarly.

Him: No, no, no, no. It'll be like when you push on a balloon and it just kind of goes to the side.

Me: Whatever. This is ridiculous. I just want a real lift.

SILENCE. I ROLL OVER IN BED TO GO TO SLEEP.

Him: (Under his breath at this point) I wonder if I could make animal balloons out of them...

Worlds Turned Upside Down

I woke up today to a text from a friend. It was a shocking, nearly unbelievable and incomprehensible bit of news. One of my best friends from high school and someone whom I am still good friends with, has had her world turned upside down. The love of her life, and father of her little baby has been taken from this world. I don't know how he passed away but I do know that at age 22 it is the most unexpected, most undeserved act of life.

To love someone is truly unselfish. Giving someone your heart, your life, your love is such a dangerous and scary thing but so worth it. She was able to spend a part of her life with someone who loved her more than anything, gave her a beautiful baby boy, and who now will be watching over her from the skies. Please pray for her. Pray for her baby. Pray for her comfort.

Day 27 & Day 28

Day 27: My Month in Great Detail

Instead of going on and on about how utterly ridiculous this part of the 30 Day Meme is, I shall just proceed.

My month has consisted of finishing up my CNA course, kill me now clinicals, lots of new bloggy friends & followers, a ton of ridiculous pillow talk conversations with Mr. Superman, stress, tears, CREAM SODA, finding a job, starting said job, lots of cramps, getting put on hold when calling to make a bazillion doctor's appointment, CREAM SODA, dvr, dvd's, grocery shopping, cleaning, planning for the future, Skyping with family and friends, pain killers, bubble baths, CREAM SODA, heating pads, work wardrobe woes, amazing alliterations, and I musn't forget 30 day meme!

Day 28: My Year in Great Detail

My year thus far? A twelve month cycle from June to June? What the rest of my year will hold? I'm gonna go with the middle option.

Let's see June '09 to June '10...

Last June found Mr. Superman and I packing up our junk in Utah, going to Vegas for the very first time, and spending a few weeks in Arizona together with family and friends before Mr. Superman left for Air Force BMT for 9 1/2 weeks. He left Arizona the end of June to fly back to Utah which is where he had to fly out of since that is where he enlisted. I had a minor breakdown upon finding myself alone and apart from my love for the first time ever.

Last July I was on sort of bed rest in preparation for my "surgery" which was really three procedures done at once. Mr. Superman was still at BMT and we had had very little contact. I was trying to work out (against doctor's orders, to lose weight), spending every day with my BFF's Brighteyes and Davey, my sister A and her family, swimming, and missing my baby love. I was also back home living in my old bedroom and having my mommy to take care of me.

August found me on the operating table. I had my gall bladder removed, I had a lump removed and tested form my stomach (discovered to be non-cancerous), and my appendix removed. Ha! I recently found out he only took out a portion of my appendix. WTF?! August was also the month of preparation to go see Mr. Superman!! I was on bed rest for three weeks which made it incredibly difficult but I was so excited. I was sick to my stomach with nervousness, anxiety, excitement, awe, just so many different emotions! Brighteyes and I drove 18 something straight hours from Gilbert, AZ to San Antonio, TX. I was reunited with my loverface and it was INCREDIBLE. We all had so much fun together and we met all his buddies from his flight. The few days of reunion had to end and it found me in tears. I made a crazy on the whim decision to go to Wichita Falls, TX to spend some time with Mr. Superman while he was at Tech School.

September and October were hard. Mr. Superman excelled and was Top Grad. Incredible but not surprising. He is a GENIUS. September and October wore on us and things transpired that tore us up and nearly tore us apart. I returned to Arizona to be with my family.

November came and Mr. Superman returned. It was truly the perfect time. It was relief. It was safety returning. We went back to Utah to visit family and wrap up things there. We then drove back from Utah to Arizona, visited for two days then commenced our drive to Georgia. We stopped in Texas for a few hours of sleep and then continued on to our late and surprise anniversary weekend that Mr. Superman had planned, on the beach in Panama City Beach, FL. Other than those two stops, we drove straight through the 2,000 miles. INSANE. We got to Georgia, met Mr. Superman's sponsor, got billeting, met our landlord, signed our rental contract, and began life at our first duty station.

December found us still acclimating and spending the holidays apart from family, friends, and familiarity.

January was my birthday and a month of more surgery. Story of my life. My MIL came in to take care of me for the first week of my two week bed rest.

February (Mr. Superman's birthday month), March, April, May, and June have been spent making Georgia our home, getting to know more people around us, getting more involved with blogging and meeting incredible military spouses, prepping for TDY, finishing school, and like I said in my month post, getting back to work.

Geeze this topic was terrible. Happy Tuesday ya'll!

Not Me!!

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

Yes yes dear ones, it IS Monday again. I can't believe I've waited until after 3 PM to post. Horrible blogger I am. To join in the Not Me fun and make yourself feel better about.... well yourself, click the button and be sure to follow along with MckMama the rest of the time too. She's fabu!

This week I most certainly did not, not work out. I am so unhappy with my weight but I would never ever ever let life get the better of me and just go to bed after work.

I do not love Cream Soda more than anything. It is not like crack to me and I do not threaten Mr. Superman with bodily harm if he drinks one, let alone if he just has a sip after opening one for me. I most definitely did not get super angry and burst into tears after returning home from a crappy Friday night at work, upon hearing that he drank my very last one. I did not go to the room, fume, then go to the kitchen only to see he had been attempting a joke. Not funny.

What did you not do?

GTKY from MannLand5

Getting to know YOU

Its Sunday and you know what that means. Getting To Know Your Sunday with MannLand5!!

The questions...

1. If you could have one of Superman's, powers which one would you want? Superhuman strength, Flight, Superhuman speed, X-Ray vision, etc.

I would choose speed. I'd never fall behind on housework, laundry, blog reading, be able to save gas money by just running to and from work, and maybe go rob a bank without being seen. Ha ha!

2. The best thing I ever won is....?

Mr. Superman himself.

3. Have you ever Skyped with a bloggy friend?

Not yet but I just finally got all Skype connected with G.I. Joe's Wife yesterday :)

4. What is your favorite Summer month?

Oh man I really don't know. I'll say July 4th because I don't have a better answer. Last year I spent it alone though and the years before that were spent on horrible dates with other guys. This year it will be our last weekend together before he leaves for a long TDY to Nellis. I will also be working so that is kind of sucky. I'm supposed to be all positive and I'm failing miserably. Sorry.

5. Pool, Lake, or Ocean?

I love pools but I haven't been swimming in one in a good year. I love the ocean when it comes to being able to just swim out and hang out on my board bobbing up and down. I also love the lake because its the one place I don't get sick on boats and lake days are just so fun. ALL THREE! If I had to choose though I would choose ocean. We want to live on a beach so badly.

6. One of my favorite Summer memories is.....?

Being reunited with Mr. Superman last summer. It was 9 1/2 weeks of misery being apart for the first time ever as well as having almost ZERO communication, AND me having to have surgery. Being together again was the best thing in the world.

7. What's your favorite secret bargain?

A lot of my home decor was clearance, or I made it myself, or it was given to me and I improved it. I also love Forever 21. Its incredible.

8. Do you plan on or have you been watching the World Cup?

Nope!

Day 25 & Day 26

Day 25: My Day in Great Detail

My day in great detail was supposed to be posted yesterday but my internet was down. Besides that my day was rather boring and miserable. We woke up after noon. We had gone to bed at nearly 4 AM so its okay. Its weird being on different sleeping schedules than everyone else. We woke up and I instantly just lay down on the couch with my heating pads. Mr. Superman got me a bowl of cereal and some pain killers. We watched some tv and then he headed to Walmart to get me some cream soda and pick up a few other things. We spent the afternoon cuddling and just soaking up each other. I got to talk to my sister A for a good hour. We hadn't talked in a very long time. I got to talk to three of her kiddies and tell them the exciting news that we'll be there for 10 days in September. I also spoke with my friend Ashley for an hour or so just kind of shootin' the breeze. I got to Skype with my best friend Brighteyes too. It was wonderful to see her beautiful face. We just have way too much fun, even 2,000 miles apart. We wrapped up the evening with a phone call to Mr. Superman's mom then got in bed early this morning.

Day 26: My Week in Great Detail

Dude, feel free to stop reading now. The ONLY reason I'm doing these posts is to prove I can do something and finish it up. I'm almost done!

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday were all the same. Well Monday I had to wake up early for my last day of school. The rest of the week found Mr. Superman and I sleeping in until 12 noon'ish. We both work nights now so I drop him off at base at 2:40 PM, head home, get ready, then go to work myself. This last week I was off at 10 PM, an hour earlier than my normal schedule because its still training. Go home, veg for 20 or so minutes, then head to base to pick my man lover up. We'd come home, I would eat, we'd shower and start some laundry, then watch TV or a movie until 1, 2, or 3 AM then crash. Saturday was already explained above and today hasn't been much different. We made our big Sunday breakfast as usual. Eggs, bacon, and hash browns. I've spent the day purging my Follow list and Google Reader. That is a post in and of itself though.

Happy Sunday!

In Mr. Superman's Own Words

I've been seeing this all over the place. I thought it was so cute and fun that I convinced Mr. Superman to do it for me. Enjoy!!

1. What is the first thing you noticed about your wife when you met?

The very first thing I noticed, and actually this was the one and only time I noticed it, was that she talked with a funny, sort of hickish accent.

2. What is something your wife does that drives you crazy? (In a bad way, let's not get freaky on here people!)

She cracks every joint in her body every hour or so.  We're talking knuckles, wrists, elbows, neck, back, ankles and toes.  It sounds like firecrackers going off.  Just last night she felt the uncontrollable urge to pop right as I was about to drift off to sleep.

3. If money wasn't an option what is one thing you would make sure you always had done for your wife?

She would always have fresh flowers to enjoy.

4. When do you find your wife most attractive?

When she is happy and in a giggly mood.

5. What does your wife do for you that you totally appreciate and would miss if it was gone?

She cuts my hair every 2 weeks on the dot.  I tried to do it myself while I was gone and it didn't go too well.

6. If you had your wedding day to do over again and everything was your call, would you keep everything the same? Change something? Everything? Elope or if you eloped vice versa? (Non couples or friends can make up a different question here)

My call would be the same as it was the first time, let Mrs. S. plan her little heart out.

7. What's one beauty up keep that you wish your wife didn't do? Or what's one beauty thing you wish she did do?

The only thing that comes to mind is when she went blonde and chopped all her hair off.  I always loved it long and dark.

8. If you could go or be any where in the world with your wife right now, where would that be?

We'd be happy anywhere with a beach.

9. What is one moment you wish you could back and relive with your wife just to get to experience again? Would you change anything?

I'm too excited for the future to want to go back.

10. What do you love most about your wife?

I love that I know she will always be there for me no matter what.

Just know that as I read his answers I (being oh so sappy) started crying. As I finished I said, "Oh baby that is so sweet. Thank you." His response? Saluting me. Ha ha!

Pillow Talk: Did You Smoke Pot at Work?

Let me preface this by saying that Mr. Superman nor I smoke weed. I know I have to put that out there because SOMEONE is bound to think the contrary.

I started work this week. I would drop Mr. Superman off at base, come home to veg a bit, get ready, then head to work myself. After getting off work, I would come home, veg for 20 minutes, then head to base to pick him up. This ensued after being home together for a little while and I was smoochin' my man. I had also been complaining of hunger for a while.

Him: What is that?
Me: What?
Him: You smell like weed.

SILENCE

Me: What!?
Him: Seriously you do.
Me: You are crazy.

PROCEED SMOOCHING

Him: Okay, you REALLY smell like weed.
Me: Is it my hands? (Has him smell my hands)
Him: No.
Me: Is it my hair? (Puts head down so he can smell it.)
Him: Nope.
Me: Is it my breath? (Kisses him again)

SILENCE

Him: Yes!

SILENCE

Him: What do you do at work babe?
Me: Oh come on, you can't be serious!

SILENCE

Me: I swear that's not why I'm starving either.
Him: Nice.
