I saw this, thought it was fun, and since I have yet to unjam my brain cogs or summon up the mental and emotional faculties and bravery required to write about the things that are currently drowning me, I am posting the ABC's.
A- My AIR CONDITIONER is set on: 76. It ranges between 76 and 80 depending on day or night and whether or not I am having a hot flash.
B- My BEDROOM theme is: Black and white damask with aqua and light green accents. I absolutely adore my bedroom and what I have been able to do with it.
C- The CAR in the driveway is: None currently. Mr. Superman is at work and has our only vehicle with him. Normally its my baby I bought myself upon high school graduation in 2006. She's a 2004 Ford Explorer and her name is Cadence Avalee.
D- My DESK looks: Horrid. I made some small progress earlier opening and shredded lots but I still have massive piles I need to date and file away.
E- The EXACT time I wake up daily is: It varies depending on when we fall into bed. Usually between 10 AM and noon. Don't judge, we work nights.
F- The FIRST thing I wash in the shower is: My hair.
G- My GARAGE is filled with: Nothing. It is non-existent and I miss having a garage terribly.
H- My HOUSE is: Smaller than we'd like but is home nonetheless.
I- If you peeked INSIDE my bedroom you'd see: An unmade bed.
J- My favorite JUICE is: It depends. I love anything strawberry banana but I am really digging this white grape-peach I found.
K- The best part of my KITCHEN is: My decor. Seriously my kitchen is tiny and by no means what I would choose when we actually have a choice but it gets the job done.
L- The LAST person who visited my home was: Two guys from church last night. Wait no, my landlord today to pick up some random mail.
M- The last piece of MAIL for me was: Netflix, doctor's referral's (big surprise) and some fabulous gourmet cupcakes from NY that my BFF ordered and sent here.
N- My NEIGHBORS think I'm: We don't talk to neighbors. The bulk are single AF people all on crazy shifts so we are rarely here at the same time. We just got brand new neighbors two days ago and I'll probably make them cookies this weekend.
O- If you OPENED my fridge you'd see: Some different juices, pork tenderloin thawing, pasta, eggs, butter... I don't know. Grocery shopping day is tomorrow!
P- My last house PARTY was: I have yet to host one here. We've had people over and people visit but I have yet to actually invite lots of people over and host something.
Q- A QUICK meal I like to fix is: Pasta is always my go to.
R- My favorite ROOM of the house is: I seriously love my entire house.
S- The SHAMPOO brand I use: Currently Suave because it was on sale but usually Pantene.
T- My largest TELEVISION is: in the living room.
U- UNDER my bed you will find: Storage containers full of wrapping paper, ribbon, gift boxes and gift bags.
V- The last time I VACUUMED was: Yesterday but only the guest bathroom. The entire house is on my to do list.
W- Looking out my WINDOW I see: Currently there is no window. If its my room then tin foil, guest room or office would be the street, neighbors houses, and my yard, the kitchen or dining room would be forest. Lots and lots of forest.
X- I wish I had X-TRA: Energy and money. Man I would love to not be sick all the time and have all the energy in the world. I would love to be debt free so we could finally apply for adoption.
Y- My YARD is: Currently awaiting a hair cut.
Z- ZZZZZZZ My bedtime is: Depending on what the next days shifts for both of us are. Ranges from Midnight to 3 or 4 AM.

MilSpouse Friday Fill In
Make sure ya'll go check out Wife of a Sailor and read up on all the other MilSpouses!
1. What is your spouse’s best feature?
I adore his crystal blue eyes. They are so pretty. I also love his lips and his hands.
2. Mild, Medium or Hot sauce?
I have the worst heartburn in the world. It surpasses pregnant chicks and old people. I promise. Bad thing is I love anything and everything spicy. I add red pepper to eggs and cajun spices to alfredo sauce. Its usually medium if I make food but Hot if its Mr. Superman.
3. What is the worst uniform you had to wear for a job?
My nasty Sonic uniform. No matter how much I washed it it smelled of grease and cheese and grease. I only got paid 5.15 and hour too so it made it even more awful.
4. You have invisible powers… where is the first place you would go?
I know its wrong but I would go to a big bank and take money from the mob so we could pay off our medical debt so we could finally move forward to finally having babies (read: adoption).
5. What’s left on your “to do” list for this summer?
We're working like crazy on the AECP and trying to find ways for me to make a little extra money. We also have the very real possibility of our first D day looming over us so... Lose weight and relax with my babe as much as possible.

3) My house is slowly but surely being pieced back together.
4) Mr. Superman is going to be working some crazy 12 hour, middle of the night shifts for the month of August (off and on for a few different exercises) and yet, he doesn't complain. Its his job and he does it well. He is incredible.
5) We got paid a day early. Ahhh yeaaaah!

Sad Day.
It wasn't an entirely sad day but that is exactly how it ended. I know I have been MIA because one of Mr. Superman's little sisters and then my BFF have been here. My house is trashed, there is laundry everywhere, hardly any food in the fridge, the floors are filthy, dishes are overflowing, and I am sitting here on the couch just kind of staring at it all.
I will probably still be a little amiss for a few days because I have several guest pieces I am working on for other bloggers plus I will be attempting to piece mi casa back together. I am finally diving into my DVR from the last two weeks and working on my first piece which I will let you guys know about on Thursday.
I am super super sad because my BFF is now on a plane to ATL then PHX. It very well may be the last time I see her in two years. I'll explain that later. I am so sad though. I cried nearly as hard as when I dropped off my man.
I gotta suck it up and write.

I Just Don't Get It.
Mr. Superman showed me something earlier that just had me in awe. I have seen it before but I had forgotten some of it. Make sure you click the image so you can grasp the full immensity of it all. If it doesn't work, then you can view it HERE
I just don't understand how some people could look in the sky and some people even know about all of this, and NOT believe in God.

Words of Wisdom from Mr. Superman
Its that time again Lovelies.
Words of Wisdom from Mr. Superman
Today, while hanging out at the beach with Mr. Superman and my BFF Brighteyes at Little Talbot Island near Jacksonville, we were strolling along the beach collecting shells. I looked down and saw that my legs, abdomen, arms, chest, everything, were all unbelievably glittery and sparkly. I wondered aloud about my shiny nature.
"You're a vampire. Duh."

MilSpouse Friday Fill In
1. Besides the horizontal mambo, what do you miss most when your spouse is deployed?
We are newbies. Just barely hit our year mark in the USAF so deployment hasn't happened for us yet. I do know that for the four months he was gone for BMT and Tech School I missed just about everything. I missed him being able to hold me at night, watch movies with me, getting my toothbrush ready for me, go to my doctor's appointments and holding my hand after surgery... I could go on forever.
2. What do you miss least?
He doesn't do anything that drives me crazy enough to not miss any part of him.
3. You only get three crayons to finish your picture… which three do you choose and why?
I would choose blue (because it can be the sky, ocean, clouds, etc), green (because its grass, trees, flowers, everything alive, etc), and yellow (because it can be sunshine, happiness, and smiles).
4. If you could have your own fragrance, what would it be called?
Man I'm with Wife of a Sailor. "I would call it Summer Lovin’. It would be a mixture of orange blossoms, amber, orchid and some more citrus like honeydew."
5. If the shoes make the man (or woman), what do your shoes say about you right now?
I am currently not wearing shoes. It means I just woke up and am blogging while my man cuddles on the couch next to me. I do plan on wearing flip flops though which say, "Man that lucky yatch is going to the pool with her BFF!"
Suh-Weet!!
So three fabulous lovelies have awarded me with this!
Flip Flops & Combat Boots, Life as a Sailor's Girl, The Resor's: A Marriage and a Mistress Named the Marine Corps, and Letters From Base
Thanks dollfaces!! I have seen this making the circuits pretty rapidly so I won't be passing it on to anyone in particular. If you haven't gotten it, but want it, grab it!!
A real post to come soon ya'll.
I promise :)

Brand New Fabulous Thursday Five!
Say hello to the brand new version of Thursday Five! When Mannland 5 announced that she would no longer be hosting Thursday Five it I was so sad! She did give her blessing for someone else to pick it up though and I am so stoked because the fabulous Mrs. Gambizzle is continuing it. All you have to do is list five things that have made you
Happy
Joyful
Appreciative
Giggly
or
Excited
1) I have gotten some fabulous thrift store finds, clearance finds, and wonderful crafting and decorating done this week with my fantastic SIL K. Pictures to come soon.
2) My horrible sunburn healed incredibly fast and is already peeling. I do look like a leper but it means the base pool and Jacksonville won't be painful!
3) Mr. Superman is home all day and night today. 'Nuff said.
4) My BFF E. arrived this morning. I was more excited than a child on Christmas.
5) My fabulous mama sent an adorable dress and some great books with my BFF.
What are your five?

What It Means To Be An Air Force Wife (To Me)
I've actually been wanting to write a post like this for a while and Nicole and her fabulous Giveaway gave me the push I needed! Make sure you all go and check out Signs of Patriotism as well. Her handiwork is incredible.
What it means to be an Air Force wife, to me, encompasses so many different attributes, emotions, feelings, responsibilities, fears, expectations, and aspirations that it isnearly impossible difficult to put it into words. Let me re-phrase that. It is difficult to put the precise and exact way it all feels and is, into words in a way that doesn't leave anything amiss or misconstrued or misunderstood. That said, I will still attempt it.
The Air Force used to feel like this mysterious and obscure entity. Something I knew about, appreciated (looking back now, my 'appreciation' level is laughable), but it was separate. Separate from me, my husband, our lives, and our future. Seeing my world now, and how utterly blessed and enriched it has become in just a short year, leaves me scratching my head in wonder as to how we ever existed outside of this glorious (and aggravating) military (read: Air Force) world.
For me, being an Air Force wife means representing my husband in an honorable, brave, classy, and strong way. It means being able to carry on conversations about everyone else who works in the bomb dump, who is on leave, who is deploying, returning from or heading to Korea. It means being able to know who is new in Line D. It means knowing how dispatch works, the difference between chaff and flare, bombs, rockets, air to air missiles, and air to ground missiles. It means always being aware of when the A-10's will be night flying and being able to know whether or not it truly is a thunderstorm shaking my house or just the jets. It means being able to differentiate the planes by how they sound flying over my house and being pretty good at guessing where they must be visiting from. It means knowing the gate guards shifts and whether or not my "favorites" are on duty.
Being an Air Force wife means switching my sleep schedule to match that of my husband's so as to get as much time together as possible, helping prep his Dress Blues (holding the ruler and telling him whether or not things look centered), and lint rolling him from top to bottom. It means checking in on him to see how his CDC's are going and offering relentlessly to help him study. It means giving him weekly head shaves. It means making cookies, cupcakes, and other treats for his shop. It means praising the littlest bit of improvement in something or an opportunity to get training for something else, even if it does lessen our "home" time together.
It means living 2,000 miles away from our families, friends, and everything familiar. It means days, nights, weeks, and months of loneliness. It means being overwhelmed and not being able to explain why. It means having so many plans and dreams but also knowing that making plans is a little idiotic because there is no guarantee you'll ever be able to follow through with them. It means my cell phone is an appendage to my body and willingness to walk out of church (gasp!) when it goes off.
Being an Air Force wife means keeping his ABU's clean and hung up, his flight line badges, ear plugs, and ipod/headphones all together so its easier for him to get ready for work. It means being prepared for the worst but readily (duh) accepting the best. It means finding numbered stickers all over everything we own and aspiring to be able to do DIY PCS but realizing I'll probably never be that brave. It means facing the possibility and eventual reality of many separations, TDY's, deployments, and PCS's. It means hurry up and wait and nothing is for certain. It means we have a steady income, a roof over our head, and food on our table.
It means tearing up when 'God Bless the USA', 'Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue', 'Letters From Home', and any other slightly patriotic (and chances are country) song. It means having a fabulous network and support system of other military spouses, from all branches, and creating unbreakable bonds with women I have never met. It means my body physically hurting and my heart aching when I hear of another fallen soldier or wounded warrior. Another ultimate sacrifice, another broken family, another pain-filled journey ahead of fatherless children and another widow getting a folded flag. Another Gold Star family. It means being HUA (Hooah, Oorah, Hooyah) through and through. It means immense pride when I see my Airman jump to attention and salute. It means butterflies in my tummy when I see him swagger through a crowd of camo.
Being an Air Force wife, to me, is everything. It is indistinguishable from who I am and who I will continue to be throughout his entire career. Being an Air Force wife is a blessing, a gift, an honor, and it's something I wouldn't trade it for anything in the entire world.

Are You HUA?
Note: I know many of you may have already read this last Friday from when it was a guest blogging post for the fabulous Mrs. Sergeant. I wanted to share it here on my blog as well. Enjoy!
Are you HUA? I am. It gets a little ridiculous at times. What is HUA? Don't fret! I, Mrs. S, am here to help you.
HUA actually stands for Hear(d), Understand(stood), Acknowledge(d) and is a backronym to Hooah. Hooah originated as a battle war-cry used by American soldiers. It stands for anything in the affirmative. It is a saying used by the Air Force while the Army employs Hooah, the Marines use Oorah, and the Navy uses Hooyah. Huzzah is also sometimes used. Despite all differing slightly from each other, all of these are terms of confirmation, affirmation, agreement, acknowledgment, pride, and enthusiasm.
All of these terms can be traced throughout history and their influence in Hollywood's view of the military. Al Pacino, Samuel L. Jackson, Denzel Washington, The Manchurian Candidate, Black Hawk Down, Lions For Lambs, Jericho Road, Transformers, The Green Zone, America's Army, Crysis, Call of Duty, and many many more actors, movies, television shows, computer games, and video games employ HUA (Hooah, Oorah, Hooyah) to demonstrate and depict the Armed Forces.
For me, I didn't really know, let alone understand or care about the meanings of such words up until about a year ago. Before Mr. Superman enlisted, I was clueless to all things military. Even after he had signed his life away, I was ignorant. Even after he signed his "official" contract and had left for BMT, I was lost in this wonderful world of camo and acronyms. It wasn't until traveling to and attending his BMT Graduation that I started to get thatloving HUA feeling. It was those moments of hearing the cadences during the Airman's Run, seeing him march in formation in his Dress Blues and recite the Airman's Oath that my heart began to swell with this new feeling of incomprehensible joy and pride.
Now don't get me wrong, I have always been patriotic. I have always stood for The National Anthem, placed my hand over my heart, and sang along. I attended an elementary school, junior high school, and high school that based their curriculum on the Founding Father's teachings and standards. My uniform consisted of red, white, and blue polo's, we memorized the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and had the opportunity to go to the State Senate to debate. In light of my patriotic upbringing and education, none of these things even compare to what I consider to be my HUA pride.
When I see a rolling wave of ABU's, my heart flutters. I am HUA. When I can recognize my Airman strutting amongst countless other Airmen, all decked in camo, my heart nearly leaps out of my chest. I am HUA. When I see my Airman jump to attention and salute, it gives me butterflies. I am HUA. When I am doing laundry, and it comes to the part where I'm hanging up his uniform, I often find myself running my fingers over his name stitched across the chest and the stripes stitched on his sleeves. I am HUA. When I see his boots on the floor, I don't move them. I like seeing them there in plain site. I am HUA. I cry at nearly every photo I see of our troops and my heart gets unbelievably heavy when I hear of another fallen soldier. Another man or woman paying the ultimate price and making the ultimate sacrifice leaving behind yet another family to pick of the pieces of their shattered world. I am HUA. I cry at any slightly patriotic song and get giddy over fabulous American style photos and decor. I am HUA.
I feel inexplicably connected to every single person associated with the military. I have made incredible friends through the internet (and a few in real life) because of the fact that I am an Air Force wife. Its barely been a year since my life changed and I, along with (and essentially because of) my Airman became a part of something bigger. Its only been a year but it feels like its been a part of me forever. The patriotic pride I had before finding myself as part of the military family seems absolutely miniscule compared to the appreciation and enthusiasm I have now. The only way I can explain it is I am HUA.
So let me ask you again. Are you HUA?

I know a lot of you have used my Lovelies link lists located on the right hand side bar to find other fabulous MilSpouses to network with and befriend. The lists have gotten pretty long and its gotten to the point that they are a bit overwhelming to the blog.
I have been struggling to figure out an alternative. I had an aha moment about 3 weeks ago and am just now finding the time to sit down and set the new pages up. In the next couple days, you will see blog posts titled United States Air Force Lovelies, United States Army Lovelies, United States Marine Corps Lovelies, and United States Navy Lovelies. Each post will be equipped with the current link lists. Be sure that if yours is incorrect or not listed, that you leave a comment on your branches' Lovelies post and make me aware of it!

Words of Wisdom from Mr. Superman
So for a while now, I have been thinking about occasionally posting a new segment. Up until sitting down to write this I hadn't thought up a name but I think "Words of Wisdom from Mr. Superman" is PERFECT. Often, I find myself scrambling for a pen to write down things he says and have recently taken to entering little notes on my phone to save for a later date. To use the words of one of our good friends whom Mr. Superman attended BMT with, "He is a man of few words but when he does speak, it is absolutely epic." Indeed. Here a just a few gems to tide ya'll over.
In 2008 sometime he eloquently spoke these words in response to me defending my masochism in cleaning and chores when I am ill. They have evidently stuck with me.
"Ya but I'm the man in the relationship. I wear the pants. And sometimes, wearing the pants sucks. It's just life. You are a woman. You should at least get to wear stretchy pants. Maybe even comfy pants."
When I laughed hysterically and asked where it had come from...?
"I'm full of crap like that. You don't even know what I've got goin' on up in my noggin."
This past week found me in stitches a few times over the words that come outta this mans mouth. Here's two for you. Hopefully no one's offended.
I saw a girl at Sonic working pretty late at night. She was pretty far along and I noticed they are open 24 house now. I felt bad and stated how badly it would suck to be pregnant and working late night at Sonic. His response?
"She's not pregnant. She's knocked up. Any girl, married or otherwise, working late night at a fast food place is knocked up."
Also in response to me saying I wanted to go look at a new thrift shop...
"You are such a material girl living in a material world."
I know. I mean obviously otherwise I wouldn't be living in Valdosta, GA incredibly poor.
"Oh well that shows what you know. I have you imperiused"
I didn't even know what to say. And now lovelies, this concludes the very first edition of "Words of Wisdom from Mr. Superman"

My Life As Of Late...
So no, I have NOT died. I know, huge sigh of relief. We actually had one of Mr. Superman's three sisters fly in late Wednesday night to come stay with us for a week. Its going to be a blast!! Her name is K and she's wonderful! We have had lots of fun in the past. Don't remember? Let me refresh your memory glands.
First day of Newport Beach a couple years ago. K (left) and C2 (right)

Late night adventures at California gas stations.
Needless to say we will be adding to our pictures! We plan on visiting the base pool, thrifting, exploring, going to Jacksonville, and just all in all relaxing. Please forgive me if I am a little MIA. I miss all you lovelies so much already and its only been one day! I hope ya'll don't abandon me between now and my regular blogging return.
Love you ALL!!

A Shepherd's Stew of a Post
This is my first "this is what we have been up to lately" post in a very very long time. I'm excited because I actually have stuff to talk about. Ha! I am such a nerd.
Well for those who are completely out of touch with everything important aka my blog, twitter and FB account who may be behind on blog reading, this last week was crazy. My car baby developed a red ant and giant black ant infestation. If only we could have fumigated. My car baby also got very sick and needed some surgery and organ transplants. I'll just say that we are extremely blessed and grateful for our families. We really are extraordinarily lucky.
I also had some ER visits and doctors appointments. I am waiting on more referrals and thanks to some fabulous advice from my friend Leman, we have some hope glimmering at the end of one of our life decision tunnels. Seriously stoked about some news and possible treatments in our future.
Saturday found us sleeping in and then venturing out to the newly remodeled and reopened base pool. Dude. It was incredible. It felt so good to swim! We then ran some errands and picked up some things from Walmart. We headed over to Leman (my good friend) and Jay (her husband)'s apartment for some hang out time. Mr. Superman and Jay went to the store and picked up lasagna, salad, cheese bread, and cheese cake which we devoured later in the night. Us girls swam and then after dinner we headed to their storage garage to dig out a fantastic dining table set they GAVE to us. They are amazing. We then swam again until the pool closed. When we left I asked if Mr. Superman had had a good time. His response? "Its so weird and a little hard to get over hanging out with a Master Sergeant." Mr. Superman is an A1C (we're newbies remember?) Yeah I suppose it is for him. Ha ha I don't see rank.
Sunday was church bright and early. I was exhausted. A touch of sunburn combined with the previous day of swimming and going to bed later than usual made for a very difficult and tiring day. I also had to work which is always blech especially on Sunday. When I came home from work I saw that my incredible husband had done the literal MOUNTAIN of laundry. All I had to do was finish folding and hanging it up. He had tackled the daunting task of separating, sorting, and getting it all right side out. He also had done the dishes and wiped down the kitchen. He got a big smooch for his amazingness. Last night was a massive storm that made it extremely difficult to fall asleep. I know I've mentioned it before but the woods behind our house attract lightning like nothing else. We counted a good seven strikes right next to the house. I hate when the house is shaking and when things fall from the shock of it all.
Today is consisting of major cleaning, finishing a project I have going on for the master bedroom, trimming the hedges and bushes out front, sweeping both patios off, spraying for bugs inside and out, weeding the front beds, catching up on my bloggy friends and trying to make sure my man is fed when he gets home. I do have a few quick things to share before I bid adieu.
