Day 14- A Non-Fictional Book

I know I mentioned this from Day 4 but when thinking about 'non-fictional' books that have actually touched me and made me think, this was at the forefront of my mind. I just love everything Mitch Albom has to say but this particular book of his is so involved and every point is just driven home. He has phenomenal life experiences and I am so glad he made the decision to share them with the world. He is such a talented writer.

Two of my favorite quotes from the book. The first because, well I'm 22 and even though I joke about never wanting to grow old and being terrified about it, I am looking forward to it. The second because trust is one of the most important things to me.

"As you grow old, you learn more. If you stayed at twenty-two, you'd always be as ignorant as you were at twenty-two. Aging is not just decay, you know. It's growth. It's more than the negative that you're going to die, its also the positive that you understand you're going to die, and that you live a better life because of it."

"You closed your eyes. That was the difference. Sometimes you cannot believe what you see, you have to believe what you feel. And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel that you can trust them too-even when you are in the dark. Even when you're falling."

What's your favorite non-fictional book?

I have to say that my favorite non-fiction book is... "The Book of Mormon". Re-reading it right now because Katie, Cassidy & I are working on Personal Progress- they both have their YW Recognition but we decided to do it all again together. Currently finishing up "Virtue" and the project is reading the "Book of Mormon". Just starting Alma tonight! <3

I think I have heard of this, sounds good! I am not a huge non-fiction fan I prefer fiction, but there are several military wife books out there, and books on marriage I have enjoyed. :)

I can't pick just one, but non-fiction books are my faves!

Oh yeah- I also really really like Robin McGraw's book- "Inside my Heart"... wish I'd read it before I got married (when it wasn't written yet!) as I would've done a lot of things differently!
